How to Build a Skincare Routine?

Everyone has different skin types along with different problems and their needs. In order to build a healthy skincare routine, we need to know our goals for that particular skin in a particular period and make the schedule and “menu” accordingly.
If the skin has acne and oily, then we have to treat it differently than when the skin is normal or has other problems such as sunburn, eczema, or dryness. It is best if we learn and customize the skincare routine according to each person’s wants and their skin troubles. But in general, skincare basic should include 2 routine lists for both A.M. and P.M in a day.

The A.M. Skincare Routine

If you have little time and want to have a basic morning routine for the skin, then the most 3 important step for AM is cleanser/ exfoliator – moisturizer – sunscreen. Choosing an exfoliating oil-based cleanser can help you not only remove more dead skins and dirt but also help to not wash your face with a water-based cleanser, which can take more time (because you have to go to the restroom and dry out your face after).
When you want to start your morning with a more relaxing and well-prepared routine, then the AM routine can have as long as 10 steps, which is: cleanser/ exfoliator – rejuvenating mask/ ice cubes – toner – antioxidant serum – spot treatment – eye cream – face oil – moisturizer – sunscreen – based makeups. This routine can take you at least an hour if you want to do properly as giving some time for the nutrients of all of these liquids to penetrate to your skin.

The P.M. Skincare Routine

Nighttime Skincare Routine is the chance for your skin to recover from the makeups/ environmental exposure during the day.  A basic evening routine should include: makeup remover,  cleanser/ exfoliator – spot treatment – night cream/ sleep mask. The products can be thicker with more nutrients to boost the skin to repair itself.
A whole shebang P.M routine can also have 10 steps as: makeup remover – water based cleanser – exfoliator/ clay mask/ ice cubes – mist / toner – acid treatment – spot treatment – serum/ essences – eye cream – face oil – night cream/ sleep mask.
There is no need to feel pressure to apply all steps in all days. The most important thing to remember about building the right skin routine for you is to find products that work great for your skin goals, and having fun experimenting with different products on different days that you have.

Don’t forget to treat your skin with gentle “snacks” in the middle of the day

Apply hydration mist often when your skin feels thirsty and dry out, and you do not want to touch your face with your busy (and not so clean) hands, especially if you are outside and have sunscreen or make-up on.
Put ice cubes into a facial towel, or facial tissues, and roll all over your face when your skin feels itchy and appears some redness or hives. It will help to calm and cool down those minor allergies if your skin is sensitive, thus, easily reacts to chemicals, seasonal, or weather changes.
Aloe vera is the queen plant of all-natural skincare, so give it a try if you are willing to go clean and detox your skin from all chemicals and your natural skincare products. It is actually effective, easy to get, and cost-saving to get a 100% aloe leaf from a supermarket or your own garden. Then you can prepare some juicy fresh pieces in a small container always ready in your fridge.
Last, but not least, drink a lot of water to keep skin hydrated and detoxed.
