6 Natural Treatments for Rosacea

Aloe vera

Aloe vera can be a very successful topical treatment for rosacea. Be careful! It is possible for people with rosacea to be sensitive or even allergic to aloe vera. So be sure to test any moisturizers or products that may contain aloe just in case it may not work for your skincare regime. If you would rather harvest the gel from the aloe vera plant yourself, apple the inner gel directly to your skin to soothe the redness. 

Chamomile

Chamomile is also found in moisturizers, just like its buddy aloe. Using chamomile as treatment for rosacea, it is often used topically in a herbal treatment. Chamomile essential oil can be diluted and applied, too. You can also make chamomile tea, wait for it to cool, and apply as a skin wash or compress.

Coconut Oil

While coconut oil is great for moisturizing, it is also helpful as an anti-inflammatory and antioxidant. Moisturizers like coconut oil are the best for skin care conditions like rosacea. Apply a small amount of high quality coconut oil to your skin. You can also use it as a carrier oil for appropriate essential oils if desired.

Green tea

Green tea is very rich in antioxidants, making this herbal remedy helpful for inflammation. Applying topical products with green tea is the best method for treating rosacea. Cooled green tea may also be used as a compress for rosacea as well. 

Oatmeal

Oatmeal has many uses outside of the kitchen, including being a long-time home remedy for treating rosacea. Oatmeal helps to strengthen skin and reduce water loss, and help itching. Some skin products, like face masks, include oatmeal as an ingredient; which are great options. You can also mix a couple tablespoons of oatmeal with water and apply directly to your skin.

Turmeric

Turmeric has many benefits, but is known for its famous herbal anti-inflammatory benefits. Try applying turmeric essential oil diluted in a carrier oil. Some creams and lotions contain turmeric. You can also mix turmeric powder with water and apply it to your skin as a poultice.
