When it comes to skincare, there is an endless amount of beauty products to choose from. Sometimes it can be impossible to choose between one product and another. Most women end up buying the wrong type of products for their skin without even knowing. It’s hard to walk away from the mindset that your skincare problems will be whisked away in a “one-size-fits-all” sort of situation. I’m sorry to tell you, it couldn’t be further from the truth.
Everyone has a different skin type, so sometimes name brand beauty products, just won’t cut it. Not to mention beauty products are full of chemicals and parabens, which are proven to cause the skin more harm than good. Our skin is our shield, our protector of our bodies, so why would we want our skincare routine to suffer? Here is a neat fact, about 60% of what we put onto our body gets absorbed by the skin, which means the products we chose to put on our bodies can have a direct impact on our overall well being.
As an alternative, most women have turned to use all-natural products or natural remedies for skincare instead of artificial substances. There are a variety of reasons as to why using homemade skincare tips appeal to the average woman. For one, you control what’s going on your skin and can actually pronounce the ingredients. And a bonus guarantee is the store is never going to run out of your skin care product, you want to know why? Because natural remedies for skincare are commonly made from products we use every day. How cool is that!
The internet is plastered with natural skin care tips and homemade skincare remedies. If you’re new to natural remedies for skincare, then like most women you probably don’t even know where to start. Which is perfectly okay, there is no right or wrong way to follow homemade skincare tips. If you’re anything like me and have no idea what you’re doing, below are a few homemade skin care tips worth a shot.
3 Coffee Skincare Tips
Coffee is said to be a great natural exfoliator when it comes to removing dead skin cells and dirt. The coffee grounds have coarse particles that work as an exfoliating agent. You can use coffee-related beauty products as they do not harm the skin.
Coffee face and body scrub
Take the coffee grounds in a bowl. Add an equal amount of sugar to it ( can also substitute with sea salt). Add a few drops of olive oil. Mix them well. Take a blender and whip it till the sugar completely dissolves. Ensure that the consistency is slightly thicker so that it would be easy to scrub. Voila! your homemade coffee scrub is ready to use.
Coffee mask
A coffee facial can help brighten skin, prevent clogged pores, and soften lines. Caffeine acts as a vasodilator, which constricts blood vessels in the body. Mix coffee powder with honey or olive oil and massage it into the skin. Spread it like a face mask for 15 mins and rinse off.
Coffee Eye Pads for dark circles
Dip pads in coffee for 5 to 10 seconds and remove, shaking off excess liquid. Press under eyes as close to the lash line as possible. Leave under eyes for 10 to 15 minutes to reveal bright, smooth skin.
3 natural skincare tricks
Rosewater Eye Rollers
Carefully break petals into small pieces, about ¼ inch, and place into an ice cube tray. Pour the rosewater into a tray and place a popsicle stick in each cube. Freeze for 4 to 6 hours or up to overnight. Remove from the tray and use it as needed. These Rosewater ice cubes make great skin prep in the morning before applying makeup.
Sugar & Lemon Face Exfoliate
Place sugar in a small bowl. Cut a lemon in half and dip into the sugar bowl, taking care to completely cover with a thick layer. Using the lemon as the applicator, apply the sugar scrub to your face, working in circles until your entire face is covered. Allow to harden for 3 to 4 minutes and remove with a warm washcloth.
Rice Water for Natural Skin Whitening
Rice water is said to soothe and tone your skin, and even improve different skin conditions. It’s even said to contain substances known to help protect and repair your skin.
What to do:
Take 1 cup of rice and wash it to remove all impurities. Add water and cook it. Add some excess water so that some water remains after cooking. Once the rice is cooked filter water. Then take a mixing bowl. Combine 1 1/2 tablespoons of wheat flour, and 1 tablespoon of curd. Add 3 tablespoons of rice water. Mix it well and your Natural skin whitening pack is ready.
